[제민일보 9/26 사설]원천봉쇄만이 해결책인가

경찰은 지역주민들 심경을 헤아려 집회불허 방침을 재검토할 필요가 있다. 제주를 협상터로 내주면서 경찰의 심적 부담이 크다고 반대행진에 족쇄을 채우는 것은 고려돼야 한다. 오히려 불법시위만 키울 수 있다. 평화행진 공간을 마련해주고 이를 어길 때 법적잣대를 들이대는 융통성이 아쉽다. 현명한 판단을 내려주길 당부한다.

The police need to revise their decision not to allow any demonstration, understanding local resident's intentions. It is a sure fact that the police are increasingly feeling burdened by FTA talks in Jeju, but even so they shouldn't block demonstrations without any condition. It could only promote illegal rallies. They should provide local residents with space for peaceful demonstration and take legal actions when the law is broken, being more flexible about rallies. We urge the police to make an appropriate judgment.
